To do in Calatagan: Visit Cape Santiago Lighthouse

Cape Santiago Lighthouse

Calatagan Batangas is one of the favorite destinations of many locals here in the Philippines. Aside from it is accessibility to Metro Manila, it also offers many outdoor activities for everyone.

Their beautiful beaches are definitely one of the reasons why many love visiting Calatagan.

This place is ideal for a quick vacation for families or group of friends who wants to enjoy their day in a nice beach not spending so much.

If ever you are looking for additional must-visit destinations in Calatagan, you may want to include visiting Cape Santiago Lighthouse.

Cape Santiago Lighthouse, also known as Faro de Cabo Santiago is a historic lighthouse located in Barangay Bagong Silang, Calatagan.

It is the oldest working lighthouses in the Philippines, it serves as a guide for ships passing through Verde Island Passage and entering Manila Bay

Our main purpose of visiting Calatagan is to spend an overnight by the beach, this would be our very first beach car camping.

Since I am a practical traveler, I want to maximize as much as I can my time in exploring the town a little bit further. I would never missed my chance to see additional interesting places, especially if that is just in the vicinity of area.

It’s great that Cape Santiago Lighthouse is just a few miles away from the campsite we were going to so we decided to have a quick trip here.

The place was very quiet with a relaxing view of Calatagan Beach.

Reminder:

Entrance fee is Php50.00 per person

There is no near store so dont forget to bring your drinks, snack as you will definitely need to recharge after minutes of exploring around the place.

I suggest you do the restroom thing before heading up here as the toilet is not that well maintained.
