Know here the cheaper and easier way of car registration for a second-hand car
My number one worries in time I need to register my car is, the long queue at the LTO office.
Imagining that I will be spending whole day there gives me an anxiety.
Base on my experience a long time ago, the process directly in the LTO office is laborious. And at this pandemic time I need to avoid that.
Though the LTO already have the means of online car registration, but it is not available in the time I need to do my registration.
It is good thing that there are many alternative ways.
So I did what I see practical for me, that some are also doing here.
Before my final deadline, I process my car registration to avoid penalty. I processed it in Marikina.

Car Insurance Requirements
- Certificate of Vehicle Registration (CR)
- Receipt of Registration (OR)
- Notarized Deed of sale
- Valid ID
Car Registration Steps I did
- To register you must have the result of the Emission testing, you can do this in any Emission Testing center nearby.
- In my case I went to JPV Emission Testing Corp. (Lot 5 Blk 13, Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue, San Roque, Marikina City)
- Emission testing cost is Php400.00
- Emission Testing center are assisting as well for the car registration with a minimal service fee. That amount is fair enough in order to avoid the hassle and long queue in LTO office.
- Though there is additional fee of around Php300.00 , you can save a lot of your time to use in many other important things. Or the other way to recover the service fee, you can buy the car insurance by yourself not from the Emission testing as they are adding fee also to that.
- I got my car insurance at the price of Php 560.00 from MAPFRE directly, but in emission testing normally their rate is Php 1000.00 +. With this I still save around Php 140.00 good enough for my snack!

make sure to get your insurance from the legit agent only
